2 Mommies with Style are changing it up

Hi followers!! It’s Michelle!! Cece usually does most of the blogging due to her incredibly awesome fashion sense and her ability to navigate this blog a bit better than me! LOL! However, we were talking at lunch the other day and thought it might be fun to bring the blog back and change it up a bit.  We both love style and both go through periods where we have new clothes and can show off new outfits.  However, we also have other things both going on in our lives that has cut back on our clothing budgets!! Cece is looking to build a new house in the near future (we hope) and I am about to buy my grandfather’s house that we’ve lived in the past 2 years.  With that being said, we both are excited about house projects and designing and decorating our new homes.  We also have our crazy little boys, which always offer loads of entertainment, vacations, etc, etc.  So, we just thought we could expand the blog to other items such as those listed above.

We hope to get some of these things out to you all soon! Stay tuned for more exciting updates to come!!!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

So this post I wanted to do something fun and skip the normal outfit post. I am a self proclaimed shopaholic so I wanted to make a list of my confessions. I hope you enjoy. Please don’t judge me. haha

1. I stay up until 11 P.M. Central time most nights, just to see what deals my favorite retailers are going to have the next day.

2. I check my email almost every 30 minutes (when I am not at work) to see what coupons/sales my favorite retailers have going on. I can’t stand the thought that I might miss a good deal.

3. I have driven 2 hours to an outlet just to go to the store because they were having a half off everything sale.

4. I have kept clothes in my car and waited for my hubby to not be home so I could sneak them into the house. (who hasn’t done this?)

5. I have fibbed to my husband about how much I spent on items.

6. I have been at the mall at 6 A.M. for sales, several times.

7. When we go on vacation the first thing I do is check out what shopping we will pass on the drive or what shopping we can do at our destination. I have rerouted our drive just to pass by a mall I wanted to go to.

8. Our Target and T.J.MAXX are in the same shopping center, so I have yet to make a Target trip without stopping by T.J.MAXX. (Not sure who the genius was that decided to put them in the same shopping center, but if I find out I will be sending a ‘thank you’ note.)

9. My kids know all my favorite stores by name and know which ones have items they would be interested in.

10. The Sales Associates at most of the stores in the Mall know me when I walk in.

11. I have bribed my kids more than once with candy to be good while I shopped.

12. If there is a 40% to 50% sale at any of my favorite stores, it is almost guaranteed that I will be buying something.

13. I have a store card for all my favorite retailers just so that I can get better coupons/deals.

14. I have several items of clothing in my closet with tags still on it, at any given time. Not because I don’t like it but because I have so much clothing, that I haven’t had a chance to wear it.

15. My husband doesn’t have a single item in “our” closet; he has to use the kid’s closet.

16. When I find an item I like (Express Portofino blouse, LOFT Fluid Henley) I buy it in almost every color.

I hope you enjoyed my confessions. Please tell me your confessions in the comments.

New Years Resolutions

So it’s the new year and everyone is making resolutions. I don’t usually make resolutions but I decided to this year. I want to make sure it’s things I can really keep, so here they are.

1. Get in shape. After 2 kids my body is not what it used to be. My stomach is saggy and my hips wider. I hope to get toned up and hopefully hide some of these changes to my body. I have a new elliptical and my goal is to use it for at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week.

2. Be more involved with my children. With so much going on, sometimes I forget to really slow down and spend time with my kids. I plan to spend at least 30 minutes each day teaching my kids to read.

3. Be happy with what I have. I am someone who is always looking for more in life. Whether its at work trying to get a better position or looking for a way to earn more money, so I really want to slow down and just enjoy what I have. I am blessed and sometimes forget to enjoy that.

So there it is. My resolutions. Here’s to a year of great things and more family time.
